Chelsea Coyne ("The Siren of the Seas"), who has been praised for her dramatic temperament and unique ability to charm any audience, is quickly leaving her mark on the modern classical music world. Chelsea proves her superlative vocal versatility time and time again by being equally successful in solo concerts and recitals, full opera and musical theatre productions, as well as vocal competitions. She is currently most in demand for her solo classical-crossover shows entitled “Siren of the Sea,” Classics at Sea,” and “Opera to Broadway.”

Shortly after receiving her Master of Music Degree and Artist Diploma Certificate from The Cleveland Institute of Music, Chelsea proudly took first prize at “The Sparkling City Light Opera Emerging Artist Vocal Competition,” which launched her professional singing career. After winning the competition, the company’s artistic director approached her and asked her to star in their next production, and she hasn’t looked back since.

Chelsea has been performing almost exclusively at sea for the past seven years, yet she still finds the time to sing in various opera and musical theatre productions when she is on land. She is currently a headliner (or guest entertainer) with multiple cruise lines, after also performing as a resident vocalist with Holland America and later Cruise Director with Seabourn Cruises. Chelsea’s most notable operatic roles include Angelina (Cinderella) [LA CENERENTOLA], Jo [LITTLE WOMEN], Béatrice [BÉATRICE ET BÉNÉDICT], Carmen [LA TRAGÉDIE DE CARMEN] and Dorabella [COSÌ FAN TUTTE]; musical theatre roles include Ilona Ritter [SHE LOVES ME], Rona Lisa Peretti [THE 25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE], Mrs. Squires [THE MUSIC MAN] and Dorothy [THE WIZ].

When Chelsea is not traveling by air, land or sea, she kicks her boots off in her hometown of Fort Worth, Texas with her daughter Penelope, and enjoys working with various music schools, including her alma mater Texas Christian University where she received her Bachelor of Music Degree, to mentor to young singers and musicians. She also maintains an exclusive voice studio (“Siren’s Studio”) where she teaches and coaches promising young singers.

“I grew up in Texas and was raised on BBQ, baseball and The Beatles…not opera. I often say, ‘I didn’t find opera, but opera found me.’ My show is not an unapproachable night at the opera, but rather, an exciting and rousing experience that exposes people from all walks of life to the beauty and charm of classical music. Whether you are an avid lover of the arts or this is your first time in a theatre, I assure you, you will enjoy this evening.”
